The venue of the conference, which is planned to take two days, is Vienna. January 28/29 2010. Your preferences as well as registration feedback will determine the final schedule.
We are inviting you to participate in this conference and ask you to pencil in both dates in your calendar. In order to raise further interest in EUCATI, we would also appreciate your support in sharing this information with your business partners and colleagues.
Furthermore we are inviting you to share with us any additional idea or topic that you consider of importance to the EUCATI initiative that you would like to be addressed in the first conference. If we will receive them in time, we will make provisions for it in the agenda.
The main objectives of the conference are the development of a working program for the network and to decide on the organizational footprint of EUCATI. On the agenda are key addresses by political representatives, putting the Caucasus trade initiative in the perspective of similar national and supranational programs.
As an introduction to the subsequently planned constitution of workgroups, we will have four to five experts to introduce the subject matter and to provide some background information on it. The main areas that will be covered include
- Trade facilitation, cross border movements and standardization of documents and procedures
- Regional economic and business development: bilateral access to markets
- Multimodal transport chains - infrastructure, security and harmonization requirements
- Cooperation in training and higher education
- EUCATI's scope and focus
Each participant will be invited to join one of theses working parties. These domain specific groups are expected to identify the major issues and to propose a working program, outlining the initiatives and projects required to mitigate them. The results of each working party will be presented to the conference's plenary session.
